Original Mattress Factory – What You Should Know Before Buying From Them

For the Original Mattress Factory it is important to live up to the company’s established philosophy of providing a restful and healthy sleep through innovative mattress designs. Its product line has been attracting considerable attention thus far. It has pretty tall claims for a mattress brand that has only been around for more than a decade. But what is important is whether or not it is even ready to deliver and live up to these promises. After all, it’s one thing to say that you’re the best that the market has and being the best is quite another.

The question that most consumers want to ask is this: does Original Mattress Factory even stand a chance in the midst of the tough competition? The popular contention is that people are still trying to decide on whether or not they are better off with a newbie in the market; that or they should just stick to their old trusted brands.

Product line

As far as the product line is concerned, there really is nothing remarkable about the Original Mattress Factory. In fact, it offers practically the same type of mattresses and uses the same technology as the more popular brands. It features its own line of orthopedic, foam and latex, and classic inner coil lines. Each product promises a restful slumber but there isn’t much that can be said about why the company’s product line should stand out.

True, it doesn’t have the usual frills that the more established brands boast of. It doesn’t offer complicated innovations that will not really matter to the consumer because all he wants to find out is if the mattress is comfortable enough. Deprived of the “impressively engineered designs” typical of the older brands, it is a huge wonder that the Original Mattress Factory has managed to even stay afloat through the years.

Simplicity

It may not have modern innovations that other mattress brands have but it does offer something that they cannot go back to: simplicity. The most interesting thing about the Original Mattress Factory is probably its ability to go back to the basics while still producing decent products that can be at par with the best in the market.

Consumer reviews

Truth be told, there aren’t a lot of user reviews for this particular mattress brand. Either users were satisfied with the product but not enough to warrant gushes and praises, or the company hasn’t quite tapped into the market that it aims to conquer. It’s best to assume the first one. Based on the product profile, the mattress only offers the basics so there isn’t something that will warrant high praises – at least, not at the moment. Durability is probably up to standard considering that Original Mattress Factory uses quality materials.

Overall, the mattress is a good choice for people who want an affordable mattress and are not too particular about details. The Original Mattress Factory is still capable of giving the consumer a good value for his money but that’s only because it hasn’t gone beyond offering the basic comforts that any mattress should have. For this, the brand gets a score of three out of five.

The Ultimate Moroccan Rug – The Beni Ourain Rug

Morocco lies at the very top of the continent of Africa. A short trek from Europe, Morocco has been home to many kinds of influences over the centuries. Such influences have created a vibrant culture with a long and impressive history. One area of vast influence has been in the creation of truly marvelous textiles that are beloved by those who appreciate handwoven objects that demonstrate traditional craft. Moroccan rugs are much traded not only in Morocco and the nearby areas but across the entire globe. Many types of Berber rugs are available from craftsmen in much of the country. These rugs are noteworthy for their use of color as well as the use of materials such as fabulous wool that is grown from the sheep in the area. One of the most highly prized of all rugs that are created in the area is the Beni Ourain rug.

A Rug for The Ages

Perhaps the most fabulous thing about Berber rugs is that such rugs have stayed in style for many years. Unlike some other types of rugs that may be fashionable on year and not as current the next, the same cannot be said of the rugs made here. These rugs are much loved today as they have been for a long time. The Beni Ourain rug is very much the ideal Moroccan rug. Just as such rugs are made from exceedingly fine materials, these rugs are made directly from the sheep that those who live in the Atlas Mountains tend. The sheep they grow bring forth wool that is some of the finest wool that can be found in all of Morocco. They bring forth wool that is thick and plush, allowing for an intense and entirely pleasing texture that many people love to spend time touching.

Understated Color

One of the hallmarks of the Moroccan rug is the use of color. Color is often employed sparingly and to great effect. These rugs are very much part of this sort of design that is widely used in the area. Many rugs only use one or two colors. They also use relatively simple patterns. Beni Ourain rugs may have several rows of repeated patterns or only a handful of lines on the entire canvas. The goal of the weaver is to use all the spaces in the rug as effectively as possible. This means that each rug has a weaver who has taken the time to think about the way the finished product will look once the buyer sees it. The use of warm colors and classic patterns are one of the many reasons why these rugs continue to be sought after by so many avid decorators and homeowners.

Thick, Warm Piles

Another reason why these rugs are considered the ultimate in Moroccan rugs is the thick pile. This thick texture is very much part of the traditional creation of such Moroccan rugs. Rugs are used in the Moroccan mountains to help keep the room warm even on the coldest days. These rugs are ideal in many climates including colder areas of the world as well as those that may be warmer. The rugs can be placed on the floor to help add another useful layer that protects the room against both the heat and the cold. Buyers appreciate how the raw product is washed, carefully spun and then turned into a product that all can enjoy no matter where they live. Such rugs can also be used for many things including as a piece of art as well as a throw on any furniture in the room.

Bathroom Drywall Installation: What to Choose

Bathroom drywall installation often turns to be a very challenging task. The moisture that dominates in a bathroom creates problems for installing standard drywall, but the alternatives have their own drawbacks. Making the best choice requires a wise balance between differences in durability, cost and ease of proper drywall installation.

Gypsum Board

Standard drywall sheets are the most common material used on walls in home construction. They are made from a core of gypsum sandwiched between layers of paper. However, it is not appropriate choice for bathroom drywall installation. As being exposed to moisture, gypsum board swells, deteriorates and molds. It often happens when it is installed as a base for tile in a bathtub or shower surround. The conclusion is the only one: unprotected gypsum board is not stable enough or durable to stand up to the bathroom environment for a long term.

Cement Board

Cement board is a popular alternative to gypsum board for a bathroom drywall installation. This strong, durable and moisture resistant material is made from reinforcing fibers held together by a cement binder. It perfectly resists the growth of mold and mildew. In addition, getting wet it will not swell or break down unlike gypsum board. The only important disadvantage for proper drywall installation is its weight, which is approximately twice as much as gypsum board per square foot. The conclusion is the only one: the heavy sheets of cement board are difficult to install.

Composite Board

This kind is a compromise between the ease of installation of gypsum board and excellent water resistance of cement board. It is a combination of a core of reinforced gypsum with layers of fiberglass mat aimed to keep moisture from getting to the underprotected heart of the board. Additional protection against the infiltration of water is provided with a layer of acrylic polymer on the interior side surface of the board. These boards are used as tile underlayment in wet areas, but they can also be used alone as wallboard for bathroom drywall installation.

Tile Membrane

This premium product allows installing ceramic tiles over standard gypsum drywall in wet areas. The main qualities of membranes is water and vapor resistance that keeps dry the gypsum board beneath. They are sandwiched directly between the drywall and the tile. The seams between the sheets are sealed with joint tape and mortar. It is very reliable though not very budget-friendly solution.

How To Remove Interior Stucco Carefully

Would you like to breathe a new life into your stucco ceilings? Are you tired of eternal cleaning of your stucco ceiling? As its textured effect constantly attracts dust, soot and dirt. Maybe, you realise that the time has finally come to make a bigger change?!  Hope, our tips how to remove painted stucco would be helpful for you.

 Remove Interior Stucco

Interior stucco is created using a faux material like joint compound or a thick plaster. So, the process of removing of painted stucco from interior walls, is easier than exterior stucco, but rather labour intensive and time consuming. Be careful not to damage the drywall underneath the stucco coating.

Step 1- Preparation

Remove the furniture and other items that you can from a room. Cover the rest of the area with plastic sheeting or drop cloths. Make sure the entire floor is also protected.

Step 2 – Tools

Fill a spray bottle with warm water. Prepare a blade and a rubber mallet.

Step 3 – Scoring

Place a 4-inch metal paint scraper against the stucco and tap the end of the handle with a rubber mallet trying to break the surface of the stucco. Then do the same procedure from the floor to the ceiling in a straight line every 3 feet along the wall.

Step 4 – Soaking

Spray all stucco surface of the wall; concentrate on saturating where you have placed your score marks. Leave the moisture soak in for 10 minutes, then spray the surface again. Continue doing until the stucco starts to feel pliable to the touch. Do not use a pressure washer, because it will put out too much water and pressure and potential damage the supporting wall behind the stucco.

Step 5 – Removing stucco

Place the blade into one of your score marks, after that tilt the handle down at a 30-degree angle to the wall. Tap the end of the handle gently with a rubber mallet to start the scraper under the stucco layer. Remove the rest by scraping it by hand. If it is necessary, reapply water to the stucco to soften it.

What is inverter AC? How is it different from other ACs

There are so many people who are willing to buy a new AC but confused between inverter AC and non-inverter AC. The two types of ACs have similar features but they are different in terms of the motor and compressor used in them. Today, everyone wants to buy an air conditioner with the minimum electricity bill and best cooling. It is impossible that the air conditioner will not raise your electricity bill but as compared to non-inverter ACs, the inverter ACS are more likely to save electricity.

The inverter technology is gaining more popularity these days because of its unique features which include auto restart, intelligent temperature maintenance and saving electricity. It is very important to understand that the inverter is fitted inside the system and the power comes through the power backup of the system, this is a common misunderstanding in many people.

In case you are looking forward to buying a new Ac for yourself and need to know the difference between the non-inverter AC and the inverter AC then here is a brief comparison to go.

  • Difference in Speed

The inverter ACs have this amazing feature that they comprise of a compressor that runs on variable speed. The inverter technology does not let the compressor run continuously with full power and instead controls the operations of the compressor and provide cooling according to the temperature requirement. On the other hand, the non-inverter ACs are equipped with a fixed compressor in them and do not have control over its operation which results in the fixed speed of the air conditioner. There are many options available in the market with both the technologies and it is up to you that you want a normal AC or the best inverter AC.

  • Cost and Efficiency

The cost of both types of air conditioners are different and also varies according to their brand and efficiency. The cost is not the best way to compare both the technologies as both of them have their own features and qualities but, if we compare the prices then inverter ACs are more expensive then non-inverter ACs. The fact that inverter ACs are more expensive takes a whole new turn when it comes to the after price that you have to pay for an AC, which is the electricity bill. You may buy a non-inverter AC at less price than an inverter AC but remember that the electricity bills are higher for using non-inverter ACs as compared to inverter ACs. In the end, it is better to pay lower bills for around twenty years rather than saving a few bucks while purchasing a new AC. As we all know that efficiency is what matters the most while buying a new air conditioner, not the cost.

  • Energy consumption

This is a field of comparison where an inverter AC have no competition. It is very well known that inverter ACs are the most energy efficient due to the unique kind of technology used in them. The inverter ACs have A graded energy economic operation method and it manages the heating and cooling range of the compressor resulting in using energy in most efficient manner. In short, there is no energy wastage in case of inverter ACs and this feature is not at all present in the non-inverter air conditioners. This is the biggest difference between the inverter and non-inverter ACs.

  • Noise

This is another difference between an inverter AC and a non-inverter AC as the inverter ACs are much quieter , they do not cause any noise in their operation. Whereas the non-inverter ACs are little noisier as compared to inverter ones. They have the continuous on and off kind of process which makes them work even harder and make them a noisy appliance.
